What is Independent Living?
If you want to enjoy a lifestyle where you can pursue your passions without the hassle of things like household chores, you’re going to love independent living. These communities give you the chance to trade the worries of homeownership like basic utilities, maintenance and landscaping, for the true comforts of home. Most independent living communities are designed to feel and function like a private residence while giving you opportunities to participate in fun social activities like fitness classes, social gatherings and excursions.
Why would I choose Independent Living if I can stay in my Home?
Living alone in a house that was once full of family can be isolating and lonely. Independent living communities offer an array of opportunities to socialize, learn something new, enjoy cultural events and more. And when you choose an independent living community, you can leave chores like cooking, cleaning, home maintenance and lawn care behind. If your family members worry about your safety living alone, they’ll gain valuable peace of mind knowing you live in a community with staff on site 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
Is Independent Living Right for Me?
Maybe you’re on the fence about whether independent living is the right fit. Or, maybe you’re wondering if you should make the move now or later. Sometimes making the decision to change your lifestyle can be harder than the change itself. But once you’ve made the decision, you wish you had done so years ago.
That’s often how our independent living residents feel. It can be scary at first, but once they’ve settled into a new community, built friendships, and rediscovered a new lifestyle — they wish they had done so sooner.
What If I Need More Care In the Future?
Maybe you want to enjoy life with fewer chores and responsibilities now, but you’re wondering what will happen if you need more care in the future. Is an independent living community the right decision if you need more help down the road?
Our independent living communities are located on the same campus or minutes away from our assisted living/skilled nursing communities. You will receive priority access to our other services when you live in one of our communities.
